my hair is pretty straight and i have tried scrunching it so MANY times but it never ever seems to work. its really driving me crazy! i put so much gel and so much mouse and hairspray. do you all have any ideas on what products seem to work the best or which way you scrunch you hair?

then put your hair in two (kinda loose) braids before you go to bed.

get garnier fructis hair curling gel (green bottle) i have it and it is like hair spray mixed with curling gel it only take 5 min to do and u could do it on dry hair (but it is better if you get ur hair a little wet)
don't use conditioner when you are gonna scrunch it
also use mouse after a shower
use garnier fructis spray and hairspray
put big clips in it for about 10 minutes while spraying hairspray
first your hair must be wet, then you scrunch your hair with gel.

To be honest, i don't buy into these products, there's usually nothing (or very little) scientific about them and besides, nothing can change your curly hair, it's your genes and no shampoo or spray can change that.

Use a small amount in your hand an apply through your hair. You can use straighteners at the end but dont leave them in contact with your hair for too long as it will fry the ends and you will end up with frizzy hair! also use a tiny squirt of serum on the ends not too much as it will make your hair greasy. all the best!

Straight hair products?
I have thick hair, and I want pin-straight hair for my layers. My style is similar to this:

How do I have straight hair w/ out my layers flipping in or out? Does anyone have any products they recomend? I have the CHI hair straightener, and as I love it, my hair still tends to flip in/out through out the day. Any good ';touch-up'; products I can carry with me?

I use Matrix Sleek look the shampoo conditioner and the sleek smoother cream, it works wonders even down here in the florida heat, I obsessed about how these celebs have the perfect hair, and the answer is so simple, they have people that use their knowledge of 30+ years in the hair industry, and do many simple things, such as straightening the hair out for an hour with a simple blowdryer and styling creams..volumizer, smoothers, shine serums etc., this is the most common techniques believe it or not, thats why its hard for us regular joe's to achieve their looks, we can't stand in front of a mirror and even get every hair done with a blowdryer behind our back, it's impossible.
Many of them have hair extensions made out of 100% human virgin hair the best of the best imported sometimes from other countries, so it can be used in the same way our hair is used and can stand up to anything.

that sounds like the relaxer. i don't know if that's what you are talking about, but if it is, it's permanent, it damages the hair (requires extra care), it will work in the sense that it straightens your hair, and you can probably buy it at a beauty supply store for about $5. usually people with type 3+ hair (kinky/curly hair) use it.
you could try getting it straightened at a hair salon. if you go to a dominican salon they will do a dominican blowout (that's where they use extra heat when blow drying and then flat iron). it isn't something you should do too often though, because it is damaging. it is probably less damaging than getting a relaxer though. if they use the right product your hair should be able to stay straight for 2 weeks, but then again i don't know your hair type or how often you have to wash your hair.
if you have to wash your hair more often than that, you should just buy a good quality ceramic flat iron and a very good straightening product and do it yourself.

I used it and it didn't work on my hair when I was younger and had long hair, but also I had locks if I didn't straighten it...so...I guess it just depends on how curly your hair is.
I must warn though, be careful using it though, my grandmother knew a lady that was about her age that tried some stuff like that out, and it ended up messing her hair up, making some patches fall out and burning her scalp...granted it was probably and allergic reaction, I'm just warning that you may want to test it, as you would hair dye.

Frankly no shampoo really helps tone down curls. you could try Dangerously straight by Herbal Essence.
Apart from that, blowdrying helps tons! its a lot faster than using straightening irons and a lot less damaging to your hair too!

my hair is extremely curly....i put a smoothing cream i got from a salon in mine it comes in an orange container. i also use biosilk after to get rid of the iron smell and to add shine to my hair, i use ';blonde'; cream in my hair to keep down fly-aways, and also a molding mud from design line to keep is straight and piece it some. i can go out in the most humid weather and my hair will stay straight

my hair is extremely curly....i put a smoothing cream i got from a salon in mine it comes in an orange container. i also use biosilk after to get rid of the iron smell and to add shine to my hair, i use ';blonde'; cream in my hair to keep down fly-aways, and also a molding mud from design line to keep is straight and piece it some. i can go out in the most humid weather and my hair will stay straight

Dry Straight, Hair Products?
I have naturally wavy hair, but it is not super bad, but i don't like it. So i usually straighten it, but on Monday swimming class start and when my hair gets wet it tends to dry wavy (curly)...

Go at your local drug/pharmacy and find a cheap one. they all end up working. also add it with chi silk infusion. if you do not want a cheap on i recommend going to Regis and buying the ';get it pressed design line flat iron spray'; it leaves your hair straight..hope it helps.

idk but when u have a anwer that works tell me. ive been trying to figure that one out too. if u could blow dry ur hair then u could just use heat activated straightening products but other than that idk. u could take ur straightener with u and straighten it then.

How to scrunch really straight hair? products?
my hair is pretty straight and i have tried scrunching it so MANY times but it never ever seems to work. its really driving me crazy! i put so much gel and so much mouse and hairspray. do you all have any ideas on what products seem to work the best or which way you scrunch you hair?

loreal paris studio clear minded clean gel
got 2 b 2 sexy volutuous colume mousse

put the mousse in your hair after you get out of the shower (at night)
then put your hair in two (kinda loose) braids before you go to bed.
(take the braids out in the morning)
then put the Aussie catch the wave hair spray in your hair and scrunch your hair.
and then you should have loose wavy curls.

put big clips in it for about 10 minutes while spraying hairspray
first your hair must be wet, then you scrunch your hair with gel.

To be honest, i don't buy into these products, there's usually nothing (or very little) scientific about them and besides, nothing can change your curly hair, it's your genes and no shampoo or spray can change that.

All straight hair products do really is add a little weight to your hair. Unless you straighten with the hair dryer as well nothing will happen. Use a small amount in your hand an apply through your hair. Dont use a lot as it will take forever to dry! blast your hair until it is nearly dry then smooth from root to tip angling the dryer towards the ends of your hair.try putting your head upsidedown to do this. You can use straighteners at the end but dont leave them in contact with your hair for too long as it will fry the ends and you will end up with frizzy hair! also use a tiny squirt of serum on the ends not too much as it will make your hair greasy. all the best!
